Ego-Desires Vs. Heart/Spirit Desires

Just because you like something, doesn't mean it's your calling. Or that you're meant to do it. There is a difference between ego desires and heart desires. When you are encouraged to follow your desires on this blog,it's about heart desires.
You can like fashion. It doesn't mean you are meant to be in the fashion industry. You can like cooking. It doesn't mean you are meant to be a chef. Heart-desire callings are something that are you in every fiber of your being. You perhaps dreamed of it since you were little. And,as you are it now,it's become even part of a lifestyle for you. It is a love for you.
You can like something and still take joy in it.For example,if you like fashion, you can take joy in buying new shoes. If you like cooking, you can take joy in it by entertaining for friends at your home. If you like dancing, you can go out dancing at clubs, and even take dance classes. It is the joie de vivre. Not everything you enjoy is going to be your calling.
When you follow what is an ego-desire,you will be basically swimming upstream. Things flow more when you follow the heart desire. There will always be more resistances to an ego-desire because it is not what's natural. It will be a more difficult path, not to mention,it will likely keep the focus off of you following your true heart desire calling.
As for heart desire calling, you can have more then one of course. And,a heart desire can be seemingly superficial or about vanity. Spirit is abundance. It IS possible for someone's heart desire to be a millionaire. Or,to wear Lanvin. We are allowed to have these seemingly frivolous desires that bring us authentic joy. We shouldn't become attached to them however or we become materialistic and  chasing which is off the path. When you have the desire it’s because it makes you feel happy, and validated. That’s a heart desire. An ego-desire will leave you feeling empty though or the feeling of joy will be false or minimal because you think it’s what you desire but it’s not. Either your true desire is clouded or you are chasing things you think will appear to make you look better to others. That is never a true desire and your inner knowing tries to tell you this if you just listen.
People with ego-desires rarely, if ever, last long in their pursuing because their motivation is not true. They aren’t really motivated to do it,but more into the idea of it because it sounds cool or they think it's what they desire but it's not. It could even be a competitiveness that is the only thing that's motivating them. That will drain their energy though because it it's a negative energy. They are swimming upstream. It would take ALOT more effort for someone following an ego-desire to make manifest then a person following a heart-desire. It’s unnatural resistance.
Be authentic. It's easier to see when you start to veer off the path when you stay true to yourself and then just simply adjust the sails. Focus on what brings you authentic joy. There is so much goodness for you in the world. :)
